Vaksindo Advances Next-Generation Vaccine Platforms to Address Transboundary Animal Disease Threats

We are proud to announce that Dr. Teguh Y. Prajitno, President Director of PT Vaksindo Satwa Nusantara (Japfa Group), was invited as a speaker at the Symposium on Biomanufacturing: Mitigating Transboundary Animal Disease Threats, held in Manhattan, Kansas, USA, 8 – 10 June 2026.

During the international forum, Dr. Teguh delivered a presentation titled: “Engineering Immunity: Aligning Vaccine Manufacturing Platforms with Pathogen Profiles to Improve Targeted Immunogenicity”.

The symposium brought together leading experts from government agencies, research institutions, and global animal health companies to discuss innovative approaches in veterinary vaccine development, manufacturing, and disease preparedness.

In his presentation, Dr. Teguh emphasized that effective mitigation of transboundary animal diseases requires vaccine technologies that can be deployed rapidly, adapted efficiently to emerging pathogen threats, and accepted by regulatory authorities through robust and science-based development pathways. As disease challenges become increasingly complex and dynamic, vaccine manufacturing platforms must be designed to support speed, flexibility, and scalability without compromising vaccine efficacy and protection.

As the company is committed to advancing research-based vaccine development, Vaksindo continuously invests in scientific research and innovation to ensure that vaccine technologies evolve alongside emerging disease challenges and industry needs. In line with this commitment, Vaksindo is actively preparing for the next generation of vaccine manufacturing platforms, including the development of mRNA vaccine technology and other advanced approaches that enable more precise, effective, and targeted immunization strategies.

Among the emerging technologies discussed, cell-free manufacturing platforms were highlighted as a promising direction for the future of vaccine production. These platforms offer significant advantages, including modular manufacturing systems, reduced infrastructure requirements, and lower capital investment compared to conventional production methods. Such flexibility is particularly important for responding quickly to transboundary disease outbreaks that demand rapid vaccine deployment.

However, Dr. Teguh also stressed that technological advancement alone is not sufficient. Regardless of the manufacturing platform used, vaccines must remain scientifically aligned with pathogen characteristics to ensure they are relevant, protective, and capable of generating the desired immune response. The principle of matching vaccine design with pathogen profiles remains essential to achieving optimal immunogenicity and field protection. This forward-looking direction reflects Vaksindo’s vision to remain at the forefront of animal health innovation while addressing the increasingly complex pathogen landscape faced by the livestock industry.

Dr. Teguh’s participation reflects Vaksindo’s commitment to advancing scientific innovation, strengthening global collaboration, and contributing to the future of animal health and food security through cutting-edge vaccine technologies. Through continuous investment in next-generation vaccine platforms, Vaksindo is positioning itself to deliver faster, more adaptable, and more accessible solutions for disease prevention, supporting a healthier and more resilient livestock industry worldwide.
